The Greene County track and field teams competed at the Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls Monday, March 1. The indoor event includes athletes from classes 1A through 4A, all competing against each other in one large class.
Boys track and field coach Chad Morton called it “a great first meet for the Rams,” and added that about 25 boys went, the most the Rams have taken to the meet, and that “all the athletes competed very hard.”
Bryce Stalder placed third in the long jump with a leap of 21-3″.
Three indoor Greene County school records were broken. Jackson Morton placed 6th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds. The 4X400m relay team of Morton, Nathan Black, Richard Daugherty and Stalder placed seventh with a time of 3:40.54, and the 4X800m relay team of Noah Hinote, Gavyn Winters, Brenner Gallagher and Ethan Larsen set a school indoor record of 9:30.94.
“This looks to be a very exciting year,” coach Morton said.
